⚾ Marshall's Baseball Rules
Game Overview: A two-player baseball game where outcomes are determined by rolling two six-sided dice. Each dice combination corresponds to a specific baseball outcome.
Game Setup
- Player 1: HOME team (bats in bottom of innings)
- Player 2: AWAY team (bats in top of innings)
- Game Length: 9 innings (extra innings if tied)
- Starting Conditions: Score 0-0, bases empty, 0 outs
How to Play

TRIPLE

HOME RUN

WALK
- Batter advances to 1st base
- Runners advance only if forced (base behind them is occupied)
- If bases loaded, runner on 3rd is forced home → SCORES
SACRIFICE FLY
- Batter is OUT
- All runners advance one base
- Runner on 3rd → SCORES
OUTS (Strike Out, Fly Out, Ground Out, etc.)
- Batter is OUT
- Runners do NOT advance (stay on their bases)
- Outs count increases by 1
Inning Structure
Each inning has two halves:
- TOP: AWAY team bats (Player 2)
- BOTTOM: HOME team bats (Player 1)
Three Outs Rule
When a team accumulates 3 outs, their half-inning ends:
- All runners are removed from bases
- Outs reset to 0
- The other team comes to bat
Winning the Game
After 9 Innings
- Team with higher score wins
- If tied → Game continues to extra innings
Extra Innings
- Follow same rules as innings 1-9
- Continue until one team has more runs after both teams complete an inning
- No ties - game continues until there's a winner
Key Rules Summary
- Three outs per half-inning - batting team switches when 3 outs occur
- Runners advance based on hit type - see outcome effects above
- Runners do NOT advance on outs (except sacrifice fly)
- Runs score when runner reaches home plate
- Forced advances on walks - only when a runner must move
- Game is 9 innings minimum - extra innings if tied
- HOME team bats last - gets final chance to score
💡 Strategy Tip: Pay attention to the base runners! A HOME RUN with bases loaded scores 4 runs (grand slam), while an empty-base HOME RUN only scores 1 run.
